Bayer CropScience

Laudis® Herbicide, developed by Bayer CropScience (EPA Registration Number: 264-860), is a post-emergence herbicide designed to provide effective control of a broad spectrum of broadleaf and grass weeds in corn production. Its active ingredient, tembotrione, belongs to the triketone chemical family (Group 27), which inhibits the 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) enzyme, leading to the disruption of carotenoid biosynthesis in susceptible weed species.

**Laudis® Herbicide**

Laudis® Herbicide, developed by Bayer CropScience (EPA Registration Number: 264-860), is a post-emergence herbicide designed to provide effective control of a broad spectrum of broadleaf and grass weeds in corn production. Its active ingredient, tembotrione, belongs to the triketone chemical family (Group 27), which inhibits the 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) enzyme, leading to the disruption of carotenoid biosynthesis in susceptible weed species.

**Key Features:**

- **Broad-Spectrum Weed Control:** Laudis® effectively controls a wide range of broadleaf weeds, including pigweed, waterhemp, ragweed, lambsquarters, velvetleaf, sunflower, nightshade, and cocklebur. It also manages tough grass weeds such as giant foxtail, woolly cupgrass, barnyardgrass, shattercane, large crabgrass, broadleaf signalgrass, and seedling Johnsongrass.

- **Flexible Application Timing:** Suitable for post-emergence applications in field corn, sweet corn, popcorn, and seed corn. Laudis® can be applied from corn emergence up to the V8 stage for field corn or popcorn, and up to the V7 stage for sweet corn.

- **Crop Safety:** Formulated with a built-in safener, isoxadifen-ethyl, ensuring excellent crop safety across various corn types.

- **Residual Activity:** Provides rapid burndown and up to three weeks of residual control at the higher application rate, aiding in the suppression of subsequent weed emergence.

**Usage Recommendations:**

- **Application Rates:** For optimal control, apply Laudis® at rates between 3 to 6 fluid ounces per acre, depending on weed species and infestation levels. Consult the product label for specific rate recommendations.

- **Adjuvants:** The use of methylated seed oil (MSO) at 1% v/v, high surfactant oil concentrate (HSOC) at 0.5-1% v/v, or Hasten™ Spray Adjuvant at 1.75 L/ha is recommended to enhance herbicidal activity. Additionally, incorporating a nitrogen fertilizer source, such as UAN (28%) at 3.5 L/ha or AMS at 1 kg/ha, can improve efficacy.

- **Tank Mixing:** Laudis® is compatible with various herbicides, including glyphosate and atrazine, allowing for customized weed management programs. When tank-mixing, always follow the most restrictive label limitations and precautions of the mixing partners.

**Safety and Handling:**

- **Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):** Handlers should wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves made of any waterproof material, and shoes plus socks during mixing, loading, application, and cleanup.

- **Restricted Entry Interval (REI):** Observe a 12-hour REI following application, during which entry to treated areas should be restricted.

- **Environmental Considerations:** To minimize the risk of off-target movement, avoid application under windy conditions and follow all label guidelines regarding buffer zones and spray drift management.

*Note:* Always read and follow the product label instructions and adhere to state and local regulations. Consult with local agricultural extension services or crop advisors for guidance tailored to your specific region and cropping system.
